Brandon Hosford

Originally from Houston, Texas, Brandon received his B.S.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in Chemistry with an Elements of Computing Certificate. During the latter half of his degree, Brandon worked in the Eric Anslyn Lab researching the use of amino acid-like monomers in ribosome-mediated polymerization; a method of creating sequence-defined polymers. After graduating, Brandon joined Erisyon - a startup founded by Eric Anslyn and a few other researchers at UT Austin developing a new technology for protein sequencing with single molecule resolution. For a year and a half, Brandon worked on developing sample preparation techniques utilizing bio-orthogonal labeling chemistry before joining the University of Minnesota. In his spare time, Brandon likes to build mechanical keyboards, mountain bike and play with his cats.
